This 3D animation shows blood clot formation to a level of detail suitable for A-Level Biology students for the Edexcel Biology specification. It shows injury to a blood vessel causing platelets to adhere to the damaged part of the vessel, followed by the creation of fibrin and the formation of the resulting blood clot. The coagulation cascade is explained as a series of enzyme controlled reactions that cause a fibrin mesh to form at the site of damage in a blood vessel.
This animation has been created using Blender 3.4 and After Effects. The renderfarm SheepIt was used for the Blender rendering.
